We have something very special here at Beaconsfield; a mighty school built on the efforts of parents and teachers for the benefit of all of our students.
We enjoy fantastic facilities, resources and programs because, over the years, families have contributed financially to developing the high quality programs that we have on offer to cater for the needs and interests of our students.
On an annual basis School Council prepares a budget to provide resources for educational programs, administration, facilities development and maintenance. Our income is currently funded from two sources:
- Department of Education & Training (DET) – contributes to school administration, utilities and services, urgent works, maintenance, cleaning and general school operations.
- Parent Contribution – this is the major source of our educational and school program funding. School Council is seeking $111,530 from Parent Contributions. It sounds a lot of money, but shared between 700 children it is a relatively modest contribution. Below is the breakdown of how your contributions will be spent.
We are also extremely fortunate to have outstanding support from the school community in fundraising ventures. These funds also enable us to enhance the school resources and facilities.
Please call the office if you have any queries.
Voluntary Curriculum Contributions
make a huge difference to the opportunities and outcomes for our students. The voluntary contributions of parents like you over many years have enabled Beaconsfield Primary School to continue providing facilities and resources including: Musical Instruments, P.E Equipment, ICT resources, Mathematics, Science & Technology Equipment and Audio-visual Equipment. The School Council Budget for Curriculum Contributions is $49,000. It sounds a lot of money but per child shared with 700 children it is a contribution per child of: $ 70.00
- Voluntary Library Fund – Tax Smart Contributions
are collected to support the huge library underpinning our literacy program. Our library and literacy resources are amongst the best this side of Melbourne; but there are huge costs involved in building and maintaining a collection of good children’s literature. Donations to the Library fund are tax-deductible and particularly advantageous to taxpayers wishing to donate a large sum of money to the school. School Council Budget for the Library Fund is $40,290. It sounds a lot of money but per family shared with 474 families, it is a contribution per family of $ 85.00
- Voluntary Building Fund – Tax Smart Contribution
support the maintenance and refurbishment of classrooms. Donations to the Building fund are tax-deductible and particularly advantageous to taxpayers wishing to donate a large sum of money to the school. School Council Budget for the Building Fund is $4,740. Shared with 474 families, it is a contribution per family of $ 10.00
SUGGESTED TOTAL (for one child) $165.00
Other Expenses – expenses for excursions, incursions, camps and special events are strictly ‘pay as you go’.
