Sensory Processing

Being able to receive information through our senses, vision, hearing, touch, body position, smell, taste and movement and to integrate that information so that the world makes sense can be very challenging for some people.

Very often people who are on the autism spectrum have difficulty in managing sensory processes.

Scope, Southern Specialist Services usually offer workshops for parents in our area. The workshops will cover information about what sensory processing is; how difficulties in this area impact on daily life and some ideas about supporting children with needs in this area. The workshops will be run by occupational therapists and a psychologist who are experienced in working with students who have additional sensory processing needs.
